What does a Day of Coordinator do?
First let's start with this, day of coordination isn't only one day. Day of coordination refers to your wedding day but takes more then one day to plan.
Day of coordinators do so many things and everybody's business is so different. I am going to only speak to my own business and what I do! For me I create the timeline of the day, I coordinate all vendors have the timeline and correct information (ex: address, names of couple, and times), running the processional (which is the order walking down the aisle, don't want people walking too close together), coordinating with the other vendors on when the couple is ready for certain things (first cook, cake cutting, toasts etc), set up of decor along with most of clean up, and just basic housekeeping of the event! Somebody has to empty the trashes! Is it crazy to think there's more? That's just the basics! A lot of the time I have to attach boutinerres because I have more practice and they're tricky! Sometimes I have to cut a cake which being honest, not my favorite job. It's a lot of pressure! My team has had to go on a few beer runs, haul decor, and many other random things!
All in all the day of coordinators job is to make sure your drink is full and your day as seamless as possible! Stress free! You're supposed to enjoy your day and not worry that the bar ran out of water or any other things!
